Do Not Disappear
Sometimes the lesson is not how to hold on tighter. Sometimes the lesson is learning not to disappear inside your longing. You thought love meant proving, pleasing, waiting, overgiving, becoming smaller so the connection could stay. But what if love also asks for space? What if wisdom asks you to remain connected to yourself while connected to another? Not every distance is abandonment. Not every pause means loss. Not every unanswered moment requires you to chase reassurance. Some connections enter our lives to awaken the places where we still leave ourselves behind. And healing begins the moment you can feel longing without handing your whole soul over to it.
🌿 Micro Practice: Staying With Yourself
Time: 3–5 minutes
Sit quietly and place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Take three slow breaths and allow yourself to soften.Bring to mind a person or connection that stirs longing inside you.
Notice what happens in your body—tightness, ache, urgency, hope.
Simply observe without judging.Ask yourself gently:
“Where do I leave myself behind in this connection?”Instead of reaching outward for reassurance, stay present with yourself.
Imagine gathering your energy back into your own body, your own heart.Say softly:
“I can feel love without abandoning myself.”
“I can feel longing without disappearing inside it.”Take one final breath and ask:
“What would it look like to stay connected to myself right now?”
Let the answer be simple:
rest, boundaries, creativity, prayer, stillness, friendship, breath.
Much love, Mama Guru
